Two buildings created double the engineering challenge for the Petronas Twin Towers. STS helped fill voids in the tricky limestone bedrock by supplying design and construction observation services for the extensive preconstruction grouting program. Partnering with the local geo-technical engineer, STS also developed in-situ pressuremeter testing and test pile programs that provided the basis for settlement analysis. The foundations may be the deepest in the world, consisting of rectangular concrete barrettes that extend to 130 meters below grade with ground improvement to 162 meters. |
