Project overview
Though today it anchors the skyline, the John Hancock Center made an engineering splash in 1970 as the deepest rock caisson project in Chicago at 192 feet. STS performed geotechnical engineering and foundation recommendations for the 100-story building, developing non-destructive techniques for evaluating caisson concrete using geophysical instrumentation equipment.
