Project overview
Currently the world’s tallest building, construction of Taipei 101 was challenging because it was built on a highly active earthquake zone. Indeed, the building withstood a major earthquake during construction. Through peer review, STS supported the local geotechnical engineer’s foundation design recommendations. Subsurface support for the tower consists of a concrete pile-supported mat foundation.
