Hydraulics and hydrology
STS performs hydraulic studies involving the analysis and design of open and closed systems relating to the distribution and control of water. We also conduct hydrologic studies relating to the dynamics of water. Our water resources staff has extensive experience providing turnkey stormwater management, floodplain and flood control services. Additionally, our team has successfully completed numerous complex watershed evaluations throughout the Midwest.
We have designed and implemented Arc-View based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for several large watershed management projects. GIS is a powerful tool for analysis of alternatives, presentation of management scenarios, incorporation of model results, analyzing the impacts of growth projections on a range of natural resources, and formulating action plans. Additionally, we have in-house GPS capabilities and routinely incorporate GPS data from other sources into project drawings.
